Time for a little taking stock!
Making : a crochet cat blanket, in an effort to keep Peppie off the bed blanket [she would say it's her bed blanket].
Cooking : with my favourite little helper at my side, who always wants to stir the food. I love how interested in everything this boy is.
Drinking : coffee again, after almost two years away from it. I'm still having a stand off with the coffee machine though. I'm not caving in to the caffeine addiction that quickly. Yet.
Reading: a book about mindfulness and a book about photography and a book about a little bird, over and over for the little one.
Playing: pick up the peas with William. Seed peas, for the garden. They make a great shaker noise in the packet until the packet splits and they go everywhere.
Deciding: what to have for breakfast in the morning.
Enjoying: rainy days. It's like the dry spell in summer never happened.
Waiting: for popcorn.
Liking: the news of a new 'double j' radio station, for us old time triple j listeners who can't handle the sound of youth these days.
Loving: this series of posts on The Parenting Passageway. So calming and humbling and gentle.
Pondering: painting the house, and the disarray that it will entail.
Considering: a different course of study, a creative course…
Watching: rain drops falling on the deck; lettuce bolting; weeds emerging.
Hoping: that we can pull off a trip to Mount Buller on the weekend.
Marvelling: at a 12 month old that has decided to start toilet training. Baby-led toilet training?
Needing: to fix a flat tyre on my bike, pronto.
Smelling: popcorn popping.
Wearing: cooler weather clothes. Where on earth did summer go? It felt like it would never end, but it did, and now it's getting cool again.
Following: Motley cat to the food bowl, repeatedly, as she refuses to eat unless we stand there with her. She's a princess.
Noticing: lots of little pea seedlings emerging in the garden, fully helped along with all this rain we're getting.
Knowing: that the important things are taken care of.
Thinking: about study… thinking and thinking and thinking again. Too much thinking actually.
Feeling: inspired to create things, lots of things, all of the things. Starting with a new beanie for my little boy, before the weekend.
Admiring: Mothers of more than one child, and wondering how they actually do it. Any of it.
Sorting: the kitchen bench - what had become a dumping ground for bits of 'stuff' has been sorted to make space to the coffee machine once again… lucky we couldn't bring ourselves to get rid of it.
Buying: a beautiful Le Creuset mixing jug that we found on the weekend… beautiful, and part of the 'remove all plastic from the kitchen' program.
Getting: used to the changed season, and no more daylight savings. It's dark so early now!
Disliking: the current Australian government. Very, very much.
Giggling: at toddler antics. The sweetest and most adorable little antics.
Snacking: on chocolate, mostly. And popcorn.
Dreaming: of a bowl of popcorn that never runs out.
Wishing: we could have birthday cake all the time.
Hearing: my husband crunching popcorn. The popcorn is here!
Thanks to Pip for the cue on this post. Seems I have food on the mind a lot..

What a great post, I love the idea of key words to guide you. It gives a view into your life in little interesting snippets.
ReplyDeletelovely list, sounds like you are in your happy place.
ReplyDeleteIf you knit a beanie hat for William in K 2, purl 2 rib with a big turnback , it will last a good few years, go a little smaller on the suggested needle size and it will hold shape well.
So happy to see you have had some wonderful soaking rain, the garden will take off now.
