Loving this baby led weaning thing. His face when he tastes something new is priceless. I now understand just how far little pieces of broccoli can travel. I now understand why most of the baby led weaning photos show the baby wearing not many clothes. This is such a fun experience to share with our little one. Just loving it.
Excited about getting ready for our move in a few weeks. It seems to be one of those decisions where plans just drop into place, almost of their own accord. I hope it continues this way, and that we're happy with how it all pans out. So far all the pointers are positive. Mountains have been moved, but the boxes still need to be packed...
Happy that a new home has been found for George, Cynthia and Bridget. I was getting worried that George would face the chop, and I was having a hard time in convincing my mum to take them. I don't need to now, and I know they're off to a fine home. Even George! And we'll keep Gloria and Frankie [mum and bub] with us at our new/old place.
Enjoying using our homemade soap. It's finally ready! I love it, it feels so much nicer than any commercial soap ever. Like most things homemade I suppose. What can I say, it's soft and smooth and creamy. Even my fussy-about-soap husband is loving it. I think it might be time to plan the next batch. Once we've moved that is.
Making more homemade things... lip balm most recently, and next up is some nappy balm for our baby boy. Having finally made lip balm, it is another one of those things where I find myself saying 'why didn't I do this years ago'. I still need to perfect my recipe and technique, but when I do, I'll be sure to post it.
Thinking it might be time for another batch of Donna Hay white chocolate cupcakes. It's been a while.
How about you? What's been happening lately?
Lately...I am swamped with study stuff, bush fire stuff and work stuff; not enjoying life at the moment, but this too shall pass (it always does). When my girls were little I made calendula nappy rash ointment that was very good. It was olive oil, bees wax and calendula infused in sunflower oil. I can't remember the exact amounts, but a bit of experimenting doesn't hurt.
ReplyDeleteWow, I hope the outlook improves quickly for you.
DeleteNow this is the second reference to using calendular that I've seen in as many weeks. I think I need to look into this. At the moment I've got beeswax, coconut oil, almond oil and some essential oils to mix up. But I would like to try infusing oil with calendular.
After the recent changes, I can not find it. It is particularly difficult for me to get back to my regular learning.
ReplyDeletemy piece of beeswax also waiting. I plan to make lip gloss
