"A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2014."
William, found the box of dry biscuits. I didn't think he could open the foil wrapper inside, so paid it no heed. Next thing I see is most of the biscuits on the floor. Then he proceeded to taste test them all [hope that floor was clean enough..] by crunching them in half. Finished! A great big biscuity mess for mama to clean. Luckily this mama thinks the camera is first priority over the broom.

You know, I'm a little torn with this project to be honest. Each week I think to myself, I don't think I'll keep doing it. But then I just kinda keep doing it. You may have noticed that there are no face photos of William in this series. I don't feel that he is mine to expose to the world, do you know what I mean? He is his own person as much now as he will be in 20 or 30 or 40 years time, and I can't really ask him if it's ok if I post his image on the internet, as we don't know what the consequences may be. Plus he's 11 months old, so he'd probably just look at me strangely. Let alone that I don't want him anywhere near the internet for a long time to come. Just my thoughts on the whole thing. I can  [and do] take so many photos of him anyway, and the best ones have not been posted here. But it is nice to have a weekly prompt all the same, to actually sit down and look at them.

  1. Hi Jacqui, I agree with your thoughts. My thoughts are exactly the same. That's why I don't put any photos of my childrens faces on my blog. They don't need to be put out there in the big wide web world. You don't always need to show faces to take a great photo.
