"A portrait of my son, once a week, every week, in 2014."

William, off to explore our new surrounds. Drawn like a magnet to the little muddy puddles all about the place. Thank goodness for gumboots, is all I can say.

Linking up with Jodi's 52 Project.

  2. Hope all went well for the move and you are settling in, it will take a while to feel "at home" but a new season will help as your routine changes and the busy of organising your new spaces is done and dusted.
Some kids have more gumboot love than others, my son was sooo chuiffed with his little yellow ones, he wanted to wear them to bed the first night.......compromise.....we put them (well cleaned) next to his pillow, everyone happy !
2 pairs of socks will keep little feet warm and take up any extra room, as gummy's are not often well fitting.

    1. I just remembered you saying you wanted a nice big crochet blanket for the bed, the zig zag patterns are good for playing with colour and are quite easy to make, take a look at a site called "Lion Brand Yarns" it is a US site that has hundreds of free patterns to download, just be careful because they have different terms for our crochet stitches, but I am sure you will find a "translation" for the difference on the net.

    2. The move was fairly smooth really but the unpacking part is time consuming.. Still, we're getting there.
We couldn't wear the gumboots for ages as they were a little big, and he kept wanting to wear them but the would just fall off. Now they're pushing on being too small. In just a few short months. He grows too fast.
I will take a look at the crochet patterns, I am thinking some kind of hexagonal thing. Crazy, I rushed out to buy the yarn a few weeks ago and of course I have had no time to start it..

    1. I think life just is the adventure at that age, isn't it! He certainly marches around with a purpose, so sweet to watch.
